How many herbs can you fit in an 8 gallon plant pot?

There are several influencing factors. For example, how many plants you want to grow, what kind of herbs you’re growing and how much space they need between each plant.

You may only fit one or two in a pot if your herbs are large plants (the basil family or something similar). You can probably fit three or four into 8 gallon nursery pots if they are smaller varieties like chives or parsley.

If you have space and don’t mind spending money on seeds and soil, then it doesn’t matter what type of herb you grow. Because they all require similar amounts of sunlight and water and should yield similar results over time.

Is an 8 gallon pot better than a 5 gallon pot for cannabis?

An 8 gallon plant pot can give your plants more room to grow and develop their root system. It is important if you plant are growing on soil or another loose medium like coco coir. Because it helps prevent root rot and other nutrient deficiencies.

5 gallon pots are smaller than 8 gallon nursery pots. So they may not have enough room for the plant's roots to spread out and grow properly. You may need to transplant your plants into an 8 gallon or even bigger container before harvest time. They will become stunted growth, poor nutrient uptake and heat stress on the plant.

However, there's less need for larger pots if you're growing in a hydroponic setup. For example, aeroponics or aquaponics where the roots are suspended in air or water. There won't be as many roots growing into your medium. Because they'll mostly be hanging down.

How big can my plant grow in an 8 gallon pot?

It depends on how big your plant gets when it's healthy and happy. You should grow a plant in an 8 gallon plastic pot that is no more than 2 times its size. If you want a bigger plant than usual, then fertilize it every few weeks during its first year or two.

Don't use too much or else your soil may become waterlogged. Feeding is especially important for young seedlings just getting started on their growth journey. They'll need less food than younger plants once they reach maturity though (usually after their first few months).

You can start with a tomato seedling or young plant if you wish to grow a tomato plant in an 8 gallon grow pot. Because the roots will have a lot of space to grow and spread out. If you start with an older tomato plant, it may not be able to handle the pot size. It may become root bound when the roots become restricted by their container.
